My food addiction of the week - well I have resisted (but failed poorly when it came to M&Ms) - I even carried a jar of Nutella with me to work to give to a coworker.

My fashion/accessory addiction of the week : a new organizer. I spent hours browsing the Flickr web site and the "order online" web sites to find one.

Je suis complètement dingue de mon achat, comme je le suis à chaque fois que j'ai un nouveau jouet entre les mains. J'aime sa taille "Pocket", contrairement aux tailles "mini" et "personal" (j'ai par ailleurs déjà 2 agendas "personal" un Filofax et un Oberthur) - je peux le glisser dans mon sac à main, sans qu'il ne soit trop lourd comme le Personal.

Right now I'm a little bit obsessed with it, as I am every time I get a new "toy". I like its size, pocket is not mini and not personal (I already have two "Personal" size organizer : one Filofax and an Oberthur) - I can put it in my daily bag - not as heavy as my "personal" organizers.

Ma drogue télévisuelle de la semaine : Flashforward - épisode 9 - Keiko

Dans cet épisode, Bryce, l'un des personnages cherche à retrouver l'amour de sa vie, une jeune femme japonaise - dans sa vision, il se croit au Japon et parle même japonais, il l'attend puis elle entre et s'assoit en face de lui, il lui prend la main et la retourne pour caresser son poignet, sur lequel est tatoué le sigle japonais pour "belief" (croire ) : 信念

L'épisode est très bien réalisé et on y voit le Japon, comme je l'imagine : les néons, le bruit, et ces restaurants cachées dans des petites allées cachées des grandes artères.

L'actrice qui interprète Keiko est une actrice japonaise Yuko Takeushi très douée et très belle :

My TV addiction of the week is the US television series "Flashforward - episode 9" - it introduces the character of Keiko, a young Japanese woman who shares the same flash with the main character Bryce. He desperately tries to find out who she is and where she is. The actress who portrays her is Yuko Takeushi, she's very gifted and beautiful. She has a tattoo on her wrist : 信念

L'homme qui aimait les femmes

Jacques-Henri LARTIGUE (13 juin 1894 – 12 septembre 1986) était un photographe et peintre français. Une exposition lui rend hommage, s'attachant à ses peintures moins connus que ses photos. Cette photo ci-dessus est une de mes préférées, car en découle une troublante histoire : il s'agit d'une photo de son épouse lors de vacances, alors qu'ils étaient très amoureux. L'année suivante il l'a peinte, mais après leur divorce, il a retouché le tableau en la faisant disparaître, laissant tout le reste.

Jacques-Henri LARTIGUE (June 13, 1894 – September 12, 1986) was a French photographer and painter. He was obsessed with women, his wife, his lover. There's an exhibition going about his paintings, less famous but very much inspired by his photographs. The first one above is a favorite of mine. There's a strange story about that photograph : he took that photograph of his wife on vacation the year they were very much in love, then painted it - but when they got divorced - he removed her from the painting, leaving alone the table and the window.

Vous devez vous demander pourquoi j'ai choisi comme nom de blog "the amazing story of the flying Electra" (l'histoire incroyable de l'Electra volant) - la réponse est toute simple : Amelia Earhart. Cette aviatrice américaine (née en 1897) fut la première femme à traverser l'Atlantique en solitaire en 1932. C'était une aventurière, une pionnière et une femme de style (elle dessinait ses propres tenues, très vite à la mode et une ligne de baggages A.E). Je l'ai vraiment découverte lorsque j'ai acheté par hasard à la bibliothèque municipale de Minneapolis, un livre intitulé "Amelia Earhart Lives" par Joe Klass (1970)- il remettait en cause la théorie de son décès (elle a disparu lors d'un vol au-dessus du Pacifique en juillet 1937). Il reste un de mes livres préférés (il fut par la suite interdit à la vente).

Elle pilotait un Lockheed Electra 10E lorsqu'elle a établi son premier record. Une vraie source d'inspiration. This is the amazing story of the Flying Electra !

You may wonder why I chose as the blog name "the amazing story of the flying Electra" - the answer is quite simple: Amelia Earhart. The American aviator (b. 1897) was the first woman to cross the Atlantic solo in 1932. She was an adventurer, a pioneer and a woman of style (she drew her own outfits and created a fashionable line of luggage A.E). I discovered her life when I bought in the Minneapolis Public Library, a book entitled "Amelia Earhart Lives" by Joe Klass (1970) - he questioned the theory of her death (she disappeared during a flight over the Pacific in July 1937). It remains one of my favorite books (it was subsequently withdrew from the sale).She flew a Lockheed Electra 10E when she established her first record. Voyage d'Hermès

Je ne regarde pratiquement jamais les publicités (ou réclames) à la télévision car elles m'ennuient. Aujourd'hui, je suis allée voir le dernier film de Christopher Nolan "Inception" et j'ai beaucoup aimé - le film démontre la puissance des rêves et des dangers lorsque des êtres malveillants tentent d'y entrer. J'y suis allée parce que l'idée qu'un homme puisse entrer dans votre rêves pour y voler vos secrets m'a plue, comme j'avais auparavant aimé la vie à l'envers de Benjamin Button. Et puis il y a les rêves qui s'emboitent comme des poupées russes et la frontière tenue entre le rêve et la réalité. Enfin, les acteurs y sont formidables : Leonardo Di Caprio, Ellen Page, Tom Hardy et Joseph Gordon-Levitt, sans oublier le beau Cillian Murphy. J'ai été ravie de retrouver Joseph Gordon-Levitt depuis "(500) Days of Summer".

Today I went to see the latest film from Christopher Nolan "Inception" and I loved it- the film demonstrates the power of dreams and the existing danger if malicious people try to enter inside. I wanted to see it because the idea that a man can enter your dreams to steal your secrets intrigued me, as I had previously loved the extraordinary life of Benjamin Button. And then there are the dreams that fit together like Russian dolls and the thin line between dream and reality. Finally, an amazing cast : Leonardo DiCaprio, Ellen Page, Tom Hardy and Joseph Gordon-Levitt, not to mention the lovely Cillian Murphy. I was delighted to see again Joseph Gordon-Levitt from "(500) Days of Summer".
